WELCOME
to our churches

St Mary's Church in North Marston and St John the Baptist Church in Granborough are part of the Schorne Team of Parishes in the Claydon Deanery of the Diocese of Oxford. St Mary's Church is in Local Ecumenical Partnership with Methodist Church. Wesley Centre has a wonderful heritage of Methodist worship in North Marston and continues to be used for worship as well as many community events. Our churches are welcoming and friendly, offering a variety of worship experiences, seeking to know God in a deeper way and making His presence known in our lives and in our village communities. You are most welcome to join us for any of our services or special events.

God, hear our prayers for peace in the Middle East.

May all people in the region be protected, safe from harm.

We pray that this crisis will end now, with no further loss of life.

God, may the injured and distressed know your healing presence.

May the powerful and the decision-makers follow the paths of justice, mercy and peace.

We pray for recognition of the dignity and value of every life.

May the clamour of violence cease,

Replaced by the beating of swords into ploughshares.

God, in your name,

Amen

(Prayer by Christian Aid)

Following the Flooding in the Ukraine's Kherson Region, more aid is desperately needed.

PRAYER FOR THE WEEK

"May God bless us with discomfort —

discomfort at easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships,

so that we may live deep within our hearts.

May God bless us with anger —

anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people,

so that we may work for justice, freedom, and peace.

May God bless us with tears —

tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, hunger, and war,

so that we may reach out our hands to comfort them

and turn their pain into joy.

And may God bless us with foolishness —

enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this world,

so that we can do what others claim cannot be done."
